Cards

Today I decided that I wanted to add something new to my portfolio!

and why not start off small?

I decided I would model a cardholder and cards inside - based on my own ones in real life. (Obviously I'm not going to replicate my cards as that would be a stupid idea).

I first measured the card holder and the credit/debit cards that were in my cardholder.

Then I created a replica in Blender!

After doing this and getting the block out for them I moved on to texturing!!!!

This was hell......

I wanted so badly to be able to just copy the cards sitting in front of me but I didn't have the correct fonts and I currently don't have my drawing tablet on me!!!! BUMMER!

So I searched the internet for some photos of cards that were used to promote the bank/ company they were with. I decided to start with Monzo - as I thought finding an image for their cards would be easy and care free. Which in fairness it was - however I had a few cut backs when I couldn't find the back of the card and then also the image I used had all these weird patches all over the place... I fixed it eventually using the brush tool and the lasso.

I then moved onto Natwest - Now for this one I decided I'd create it from scratch using the Monzo card I had just created as a template. I found a nice font and then found all the logos I needed for it to become my Natwest card - this time it took me a matter of minutes to create this card.

Finally I created another card - for my self. And on it I stuck a QR code for my own blog! This blog!

Below is the final image! I'm so happy with it.
