Weeks 24 & 25
So my feedback from my presentation was good I only had one thing to improve on at the moment and that was making everything stylised.
So my first change is reverting my plant pots back to their original style, simply because I preferred it quite honestly.
I also managed to complete thee things last week:
Unwrapped door and door frame.
Modelled and unwrapped door handle.
And although some things were the correct sizes, for example the kettle and coffee machine, when put in engine they seemed disproportionate, I am not entirely sure why they feel this way, but I decided to change them in size to seem more stylised in a sense.
I had been feeling this way about my FMP for a while, I hadn't fully taken into consideration what I was making and just continued with the progress. I realised recently that I was not enjoying it at all and that I was starting to hate my FMP more and more as I modelled and unwrapped things.
So this week (week 25) I finally concluded it was time to change it.
I spoke to my peers and they told me to try and keep going with what I have got, and just to stylise everything a bit more. In a sense I did this, but my heart was telling me that things just didn't suit what I wanted to go for originally. So I got all my models that I have, I stylised them and I am currently retexturing them. some of the models didn't need this, but the majority needed to be changed. For example, I fully changed the countertop and table tops so that they looked more like planks of wood rather than a crappy textured MDF table.
I've instantly been so much happier with the work and have almost entirely revamped my coffee shop with a new feeling of warmth and cosiness.
One major change was the walls, the brick texture was nice but it stood out like a sore thumb, so I changed it to matte black and extruded parts of the wall in order to create a brick like texture.
