Weeks 18 and 19

I spent the last two weeks working on a lot of small things:

I Re Unwrapped walls so that they fit into one UV space and also so that the unwrap was matching up correctly. I did this because the original walls were slightly slanted due to the unwrap being faulty, however this has pushed me back slightly because now I have to fix the brick issue once again (Where the bricks come out of the wall in a small pillar section). I have to adjust them to look like actual bricks coming out of that section of wall.

Furthermore I Spent time fixing transparent textures for the light and for the display fridge in engine and working out what the problems were. This was a tedious task because when going into engine you sometimes forget very basic things and have to do some research to refresh your memory, especially for me due to the fact I haven't used a transparency map in unity in over a year. I found that to use a transparency map, you need the alpha layer of the map to be the transparency, meaning that I had to export my images as targa's and not PNG's, because I couldn't save the alpha layer on a PNG for some reason due to my photoshop playing up and not allowing me to change to a 32 bit png.

As you can see below, I had a few things that have overrun by quite a while. I can assure you this isn't because of any poor time management, but simply because of prioritising. I have to create another PowerPoint presentation for March and I realised that I have to get the main assets within my scene as quickly as possible, to show that there is at least some substance in what I'm doing, therefore I had to push the smaller more meaningless tasks to the side for now and re organise certain things.

Below the tasks due were:

Plates- due December 9th

Paintings- due January 13th

First aid box- due January 27th

Cutlery- due February 3rd

Sachets, music license, ceiling fan- Due 10th Feb.

These are assets that will, inevitably, be added to the scene at a later date, but because of how minute they are in comparison to the other assets, I have re organised my work to prioritise the main assets and complete these ones when I can.

For next week (On top of the previous existing tasks) I am aiming to:

Windows (Model)

Ceiling fan/air con  (Model, Unwrap, Texture)

Music license (Model, Unwrap, Texture)

Napkins (Model, Unwrap, Texture)
